Roadside mine targeted a vehicle of archaeologists related to Ministry of Information and Culture today morning, security officials said, adding at least four people including archaeologists were killed or wounded.

The incident took place in the vicinity of Bani Hesar area of the city after an explosion ripped through the vehicle of the archaeologists.

The Kabul Security  officials and Ministry of Information and Culture Spokesman confirmed that one archaeologist was killed in the blast and three others including their driver were wounded.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Information and Culture Mohammad Sabir Momand confirmed that the archaeologists were on their way to Logar province when their vehicle was targeted in the blast.

The officials further added that the wounded individuals have been shifted to the hospital for treatment but there are no reports regarding their health condition.

No individual or group has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
