KABUL— An explosion near PD 9 rocked Kabul City on Wednesday evening. The explosion occurred near the vicinity of the Green Village where mostly foreigners reside, located on Kabul Jalalabad Road.
Security sources tell the Afghan Herald that the sound of the explosion was heavy and casualties are feared. The sound of the blast was heard in many parts of Kabul. Reports from the ground tell the Afghan Herald that now the sounds of gunfire can be heard.
The explosion took place near British security contractor group G4S.
Kabul police confirm that the explosion was a car bomb as the sounds of gunfire from PD 9 continue to echo. Eight people are wounded in Wazir Akbar Khan hospital. Three are in critical condition.
