KABUL — Unknown militants have kidnapped at least 25 passengers who were travelling from Sar-e-Pul province to Mazar-e-Sharif by bus on Tuesday. The incident took place in an area around Kushinda district of Balkh province.
Munir Ahmad Farhad, spokesperson for Balkh’s Governor confirmed that the passengers were kidnapped while they were travelling from Balkhab district of Sar-e-Pul province to Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of northern Balkh province.
It is being rumored that the militants were the Taliban and that they have released the women and children hostages, according to Tolo News. However, the Taliban have not claimed responsibility and no details are available about the identity of the passengers.
