Speaking at an event today, Taliban’s Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani has asked members of the group to treat the citizens of the country properly.
Haqqani, who was speaking at the ceremony to introduce group’s newly appointed governor for southern Kandahar province, warned that any kind of harsh behavior makes people hate Islam.
“With our behavior, people should love Islam and get interest with it, not that to hate the holy religion and run away from us,” Haqqani said.
The Taliban official, who has been behind deadly suicide attacks in the past in Afghanistan, also added that there is no ethnic discrimination among Taliban and emphasized that their administration will always move forward unitedly as it has been for the past 20 years.
Haqqani group has been known for deadly bombings across Afghanistan in the past 20 years, mostly in the major cities which have led to killing of dozens of civilians.
